- Muntbediende kwartslag nokkensloten Muntbediende kwartslag nokkensloten worden geopend en gesloten met behulp van een schroevendraaier of een muntstuk in plaats van een sleutel om de sluitlip te draaien en de vergrendeling in een open of gesloten stand te zetten.
- Gereedschapsbediende kwartslag nokkensloten Gereedschapsbediende kwartslag nokkensloten werken met een speciaal gereedschap om het slot te openen. Gereedschapstypes zijn onder meer: driekopsleutels, vierkantsleutels, inbussleutels en dubbelloopsleutels.
- Kwartslag plunjersloten Kwartslag plunjersloten worden meestal gebruikt op schuifdeuren of aan de zijkant van een archiefkast. In de vergrendelde positie klikt een drukknop vast om het slot gesloten te houden en bij het openen wordt de plunjer teruggetrokken richting het slot waardoor het geopend wordt.
